Under the supervision and guidance of the Team Leader and the Chief JLOC Unit , the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

Description

• Assist FPUs & Military Contingent’s rotation with respect to property and inventory control, survey of contingent owned equipment, Rotation of troops, evaluate requirements and provide a comprehensive “After Rotation Report”.
• Totally responsible for the support of specific field locations in AOR (area of responsibility).
• Provide guidance and advice to new contingent logistics officers.
• Maintain continuous liaison with their counter parts in the field, to keep abreast with latest situation, projects being undertaken, problems being faced and requirements to be met at JLOC HQ.
• Liaise with all ISS sections to ensure smooth provision of logistics support in the area of responsibility.
• Keep track of all requests in the pipeline and advise the requestor on the status.
• Follow up all work orders made by contingents.
• Design and develop relevant Databases.
• Identify, mobilize resources, implement and report on special logistics operations.
• Establish operational priorities with MOVCON (Movement control unit) to ensure that items for locations are booked to transport, of whatever means, as required to arrive with due priority.
• To receive from the team leader the daily field requirements and be solely responsible for follow up & accomplishment
• Maintain record of main contingent’s equipment, Communication means/facilities, contingent air fields and other important information about their respective region.
• Keep the team leader well informed about all important events and immediately brief him and / or the chief JLOC Ops on every single occasion where a field requirement is expected to be delayed or cannot be met.
• Visit on a regular basis the individual field locations in AOR and be fully acquainted with the specific circumstances / difficulties that apply to each individual site, and provide a comprehensive “After Action Report” to TL.
• Provide assistance to other DO under the direction of the team leader and / or, as workload dictates / requires
• Coordinate day to day support of logistics operations.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: High School or equivalent diploma is required.
Work Experience: Basic knowledge of logistics operations. Several years of progressively responsible experience within the UN system, including at least six (6) years in the field of logistics or others related fields.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English, Spanish and French required.
Other Skills: Ability to produce high quality work under pressure and cope with deadlines.
