Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer and the direct supervision of the Medical Asset Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the following duties:

Description

• Track all movements of stock, double-checks and confirms conformity of materials and supplies to vouchers before delivery/dispatch.
• Allocate BIN locations for newly received items. Ensure that items are tagged and identified and by its item description. 
• Conduct stocktaking; verify cycle counts results, investigate any noted discrepancies in stock quantities, verify and update exact location of inventory.
• Distribute and monitor workload as assigned.
• Apply safe packaging for materials ready to ship to the regions.
• Classify “return to stock” as either severable for reissue or disposal.
• Maintain storage facility in good order, observe safe usage of material handling equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.

Work implies frequent interaction with the following:
Staff in the immediate work section and Receiving & Inspection Staff.

Results Expected:

Efficient issuance and control of property and accurate recording of inventory and stock delivery/receive information. Appropriate application of relevant policies, guidelines, procedures and processes. Establishment of effective working relationships with contacts at all levels.

Competencies

Professionalism – Excellent knowledge of Warehousing operations, good familiarity of relevant UN rules and regulations, administrative procedures, policies and directives, and inventory control guidelines. Demonstrated ability to apply good judgment in the context of assignment given.
Planning and Organizing – Demonstrated skill and ability in adhering to tight guidelines and in handling multiple requests/activities. Ability to plan and manage day-to-day operations according to guidelines received from Warehouse Manager.

Communication – Ability to speak and write in a clear and concise manner.

Technological Awareness – Basic mathematics. Good computer skills, including using UN standard computer applications (e.g. Galileo, Lotus Notes, word processing, spreadsheets, Web reporting software tools, other corporate database programs and other software applications) as well as knowledge of inventory database applications.

Teamwork – Good interpersonal skills, ability to maintain effective working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity and gender.

Commitment to Continuous Learning – Initiative and willingness to learn new skills, and ability to adapt to change in the work environment.


Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience in supply and warehouse environment.  Relevant supervisory experience Field Experience and Military experiences would be an additional asset.
Language:  Good command of English; fluency in French and/or Creole.
Other Skills: Valid driving license and ability to drive 4x4 vehicles.
